What is Kruti Dev 010?
Kruti Dev 010 is a Hindi font from before Unicode. It draws Hindi letters over the English keys of a typewriter-style layout, so text typed in it is stored as those keys: हिन्दी is saved as fgUnh. The text reads as Hindi only where the Kruti Dev 010 font is installed and chosen.

How to use it
- Paste or type Unicode Hindi in the first box. The Kruti Dev codes appear at once.
- Press Copy, or Save .txt to keep a file.
- Paste into Word, LibreOffice or another app, select the text and choose the Kruti Dev 010 font. You need the font installed on that computer; we do not supply it.

Known limits
- Some letters can be written more than one way in Kruti Dev. Where the font allows, we write plain key spellings (for example
izfor प्र); other converters sometimes use a ready-made glyph instead. Both draw the same letters. - We keep the nukta dot (ज़ is written
t+). Some converters drop it. - The short o (ऒ) has no Kruti Dev glyph and is written as ओ.
- English letters and numbers are left as they are.
Questions
Why does the output look like English letters?
Kruti Dev text is stored as English keys. It turns into Hindi letters only when the Kruti Dev 010 font is chosen in Word or another app. Paste the output there and pick the font.
Does it work with text from any Hindi font?
Yes, as long as the text is Unicode, which is how Hindi is stored by phones, websites and Hindi fonts such as Nirmala UI and Noto Sans Devanagari. Text in an older font such as DevLys is not Unicode and needs its own converter.
Can I convert a Word (.docx) file?
Not yet. Copy the text out of Word, convert it here and paste it back. Bold, tables and other formatting are not carried over this way.
Does my text leave my device?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, and our release test checks that no network request carries your text.
A word came out wrong. What should I do?
